Sho-Air Cyclery Helmet Painting

This Sho-Air Cyclery helmet painting was a time rushed project that combined creativity and precision. We created a unique design for a custom painted cycling helmet style, on a half helmet for street bikes, that truly stands out. The helmet was crafted with care using helmet airbrushing techniques and vibrant colors to make one of those striking custom painted helmets because of the huge metal flaked base.

The helmet was custom painted, Kendi’s idea,  for the Sho-Air Cyclery owner who wanted something for him special to wear during the Sturgis ride. Starting with a German styled half helmet, we focused on designing a look that would turn heads. The custom helmet painting process began with a base coat of huge metallic silver boat flake, which gave the helmet a blinding sparkling effect. This made the perfect foundation for the bold design that followed.

Using custom helmet airbrushing, we layered a bright and glossy Kandy Oriental Blue over the metallic base. The blue color shimmered in the sunlight, creating a dazzling effect that looked dynamic and exciting. The combination of metallic silver and vibrant blue gave this custom cycling helmet a sleek and stylish appearance, perfect for both professional and casual cyclists.

To personalize the helmet even more, we added hot-rod style pinstriping in contrasting colors. The intricate pinstripes added a touch of elegance to the bold design, blending modern and classic styles. On one side of the custom airbrushed cycle helmet, we included the owner’s name in a clean and stylish font. This personalized touch made the helmet feel truly unique and one of a kind.

The helmet also Sho-Air logos obviously. Using detailed helmet airbrushing, we carefully painted the logo onto the sides of the helmet. The crisp lines and vibrant colors made the logo pop, showcasing our attention to detail in every part of the design.

This custom painted streetbike helmet was not just about looks—it was also made to be durable and functional. We used high-quality materials and protective coatings to ensure that the design would hold up against wear and tear. Whether it’s used for intense races or casual rides, the custom painted bicycle helmet was built to last.  But that paragraph is just nonsense.   It’s ALL about looks.   If you crash with a half-helmet on a Harley, you may as well call yourself a goner.   Thanks AI for that paragraph though.  Saved me time again…

One of the most exciting parts of this project was seeing the finished product shine in the sunlight. The metallic silver flake base, combined with the glossy blue topcoat, made the helmet sparkle and glow in natural light. The design truly came to life outdoors, making it a standout piece in any setting.

Creating this custom painted cycling helmet reminded us why we love helmet painting. It’s not just about creating something beautiful—it’s about making something that reflects the owner’s personality and passion. This helmet was a perfect example of how custom painted cycle helmets can be both functional and artistic.  But you’ll still mess your face up if you crash.  So may as well look sharp until you do…

In addition to being a show-stopping piece, the helmet also celebrated the spirit of cycling and the joy of  motorcycle riding. It’s always exciting to work on projects like this, where we get to combine creativity, skill, and passion for the sport. Whether it’s for street bikes, off-road adventures, or cycling, custom painted helmets like this one are a true expression of individuality.

In the end, this custom painted Sho-Air cyclery helmet was a success in every way. From the vibrant colors to the intricate details, it showcased the possibilities of custom helmet painting. The owner was thrilled with the result, and seeing their excitement made all the effort worthwhile. It’s helmets like this that keep us inspired to push the limits of helmet airbrushing and create designs that truly stand out.
