This custom painted helmet, a Nightmare Before Christmas -Sally Custom Helmet, was one of our designs inspired by past work and brought to life with a fresh twist. Kevin Garcia of Riverside, CA came to us after spotting one of our designs on the streets of Los Angeles. He spent days searching for us and finally reached out with an idea for a custom helmet painting project that was both creative and personal. He wanted something special for his girlfriend, and we were thrilled to make it happen. The result? A stunning Sally Skellington helmet from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
To make this custom painted street helmet, we took inspiration from our previous Jack and Sally custom helmets and gave it a unique spin to match Kevin’s vision. Sally Skellington was the star of the design, and we carefully painted her iconic features, leaving her eyes open on the face shield and working around them. This technique ensured that the rider could see clearly through the eye ports while still maintaining Sally’s character. The blue iridium shield gave her eyes a dreamy and magical look, similar to the movie, bringing the design to life.
Every part of this custom airbrushed street helmet was carefully planned, airbrushed, and painted. We started with a base coat that matched their motorcycle’s color scheme, blending it seamlessly with the artwork. Kevin wanted the design to include lettering and a scenic background on the back of the helmet, so we incorporated elements that captured the whimsical and eerie feel of The Nightmare Before Christmas. The scenery featured ghostly trees and a misty graveyard, perfectly complementing Sally’s character.
The helmet also included small details that added depth and personality to the design. For instance, we airbrushed stitches and patchwork patterns onto the helmet to mimic Sally’s dress, tying the theme together.
