This custom painted goalie helmet was airbrushed to Anthony Pisani, of Hendersonville, Tennessee’s specifications. Anthony asked for a hard core throwback design. He wanted a retro goalie mask that looked like the old-school helmets from the 60s. When goalies were men. This custom hockey mask would show respect to the strong players from the past.

We used our best helmet painting skills to make it as accurate as possible. This custom painted helmet was made to look like the old half-masks that goalies wore many years ago. The design showed the sides of the head and had fake vent holes, just like the real retro masks. We used airbrushed goalie helmet techniques to paint everything with lots of detail.

Anthony’s idea was to make it look like a real face behind the mask. So we added airbrushed goalie mask details like painted hair and ears. It looked like you could see the person behind the helmet. He also wanted the back straps to look just like the ones from the past, and we copied them with care. Every part of this custom goalie helmet was made to look just like the masks the tough old players used to wear.

Anthony didn’t stop there. He added white bars to the front of the mask to match the white front retro style. He even had retro pads custom made to go with his new custom painted retro goalie helmet. When he put it all together, it looked amazing. He really looked like a player from the 60s, but with today’s gear and safety.

This custom painted retro goalie mask was one of the coolest we’ve ever worked on. It was fun to paint and even more fun to see the final look. Using custom goalie helmet painting, we were able to bring Anthony’s big idea to life. We love when players come to us with creative and bold ideas like this one.

The first time Anthony wore his new custom painted goalie helmet in a game, he won 6 to 3, and made 33 saves.  Everyone noticed his new lid, and people kept saying how awesome it looked. This custom hockey helmet wasn’t just cool—it also brought good luck, at least that first game.
