Transworld Magazine Donn Maeda Geisha Girl

$3,500.00

This custom painted helmet was featured in Transworld, and received a 10 out of 10 rating… I got the opportunity to meet Donn Maeda and our sales rep Pat Lopez at Transworld Motocross Magazine a few times, and DB and I even got to tour the facility. This letter I sent to Donn with his new custom painted Shoei pretty much sums up this paintjob… “”Mr. Maeda, We lost count of the hours put into the paintwork of your new Shoei. Not including the time spent lightly studying the Japanese culture, I would estimate between 70 – 80 hours. But the extra time spent was surely worth it, personally learning a lot, and shooting for a personal best that is your helmet. Like many young men that have grown up in the U.S., I have never felt a need to travel to see different lands, and learn about other people, cultures, and histories. I studied and watched movies in an attempt to make sure your paint job was accurate and meaningful. I am in awe of the history of Japan, and in how its people honor and embrace the beauty of their history and land. In accomplishing one goal that is your helmet, I have found another in one day visiting there. We found so many elements that we wanted to include, but settled on a few of the basics that I felt needed to be used, as I have surely only shaved the surface of Japan’s deep history/beauty. Hopefully I got close in what I wanted to represent.
-Samurai Honor – Statue of Kusunoki Masashige
-The History – Tokyo’s Sensoji temple and Rising Sun Flag
-The Beauty of Japan’s people and land – Geisha with a modern twist and Cherry Blossoms
-Personalization – Maeda family crest and TW logo
I paid as much attention to detail as possible in an attempt to reach perfection. I feel it turned out quite well. The paint itself can’t really be appreciated until you see it in the sun. Hope you enjoy your rides wearing this lid as much as we enjoy looking at it.
