San Diego Chargers Custom Street Helmet

Nailed this San Diego Chargers custom street helmet for Gerry Goldberg, a big football fan from Southern California. He loves to ride his street bikes, and he wanted a helmet that would show off his favorite team, the San Diego Chargers. He had lots of cool ideas, like bright colors and sharp shapes, and he asked us to turn those ideas into a real custom painted San Diego Chargers helmet. We were excited to work on this custom helmet painting project because we knew it would turn out awesome with his wild reference ideas…

Getting his HJC street bike custom helmet, disassembled it…prepped, primered…  ready for paint. Then, we added a bright white base that looked just like the Chargers’ throwback lids. We also added bold shapes and colors that Gerry asked for, like yellow, blue, orange, red, chartreuse, etc… This custom airbrushed San Diego helmet had a fun and exciting look.

The helmet started to glow with energy with wild color sections and Gerry’s personal number on the side, similar to the retro throwback San Diego Chargers helmets actually… He wanted it to be bright, bold, and one-of-a-kind, and that’s exactly what we gave him. When the sun hits this motorcycle airbrushed helmet, its pretty frikken loud.

This San Diego custom painted helmet was done to match the Chargers’ colors and logo, but added touches to make it feel a Gerry style, besides the classic Chargers lighting bolts, other shapes and fun color patterns behind it all. Every part of the helmet got some love, even the back and the sides. The custom helmet airbrushing made every shape and color pop, and it gave the whole helmet a smooth finish with the PPG Envirobase clear coat on top to keep it perfect and deep.

I think Gerry dug his custom painted street helmet when he received it… He said it was better than he ever imagined. Another reminder why I like making random people smile with my custom painted helmets. Every time I work on a custom street helmet, I make sure to put in all the detail and care that it deserves.

Totally custom ideas are the best.   Thats how custom helmet painting should be. We can mix sports, style, and safety all in one helmet. Whether it’s for a street bike, dirt bike, or just for fun, we can make any idea come to life. Any idea, anything possible.   This custom painted San Diego Chargers helmet was one to remember given the time frame, and I’m so glad Gerry trusted me to paint it for him. Now he rides through Southern California with a custom painted helmet, a custom lid showing love for his team and turning heads.
