Gun theme Custom Helmet Paint -Safe Shot

Jim Harwin, owner of Safe Shot Indoor Shooting Range in Reno, NV, came to us with a unique idea for a gun theme custom painted helmet. He wanted a design that would perfectly match his custom Harley Davidson and reflect his passion for firearms and shooting sports. This custom helmet painting project was fun, cuz I like guns too, as it combined the sleek look of his bike with detailed firearm-themed artwork. The result was a one-of-a-kind custom painted motorcycle helmet that made a bold statement.

To start, we used factory-matched Harley paint to replicate the graphics from Jim’s bike. The deep black, red pinstriping and metallic gold base gave the helmet it’s matching Harley graphic look. From there, we moved on to the detailed helmet airbrushing, adding elements that represented Jim’s shooting range, Safe Shot. On the back of the custom painted helmet, we featured an image of a gangster-style pinup girl holding a Tommy gun, an iconic piece of artwork also showcased on the Safe Shot website. This bold centerpiece tied the theme together and made the helmet instantly recognizable.  The photos taken of the helmet before it was sent to Safe Shot look awful.  Another, you have to hold it in your hands to appreciate it paint job.   The flash really made this design look poorly highlighted and shadowed.  But that’s just the way they are sometimes.   Much more beautiful in person…

On the sides of the street bike custom painted helmet, Jim wanted to highlight some of the fully automatic firearms available at his range. Using precise custom helmet airbrushing, we painted detailed depictions of an HK MP5KN and an FN P90. These firearms were brought to life in black and white, capturing their unique shapes and features. The airbrushed designs gave the helmet an edgy and serious look, perfect for representing the fun firearms at Safe Shot.

The design also included smaller details to enhance the overall theme. We added subtle pinstriping and metallic accents to match the flow of the Harley graphics while ensuring the firearms and pinup girl remained the focal points. Every element was carefully placed to balance the design and make the custom airbrushed street helmet match his Harley Davidson.

The final result was a custom gun theme helmet that looked as powerful and unique as Jim’s Harley. The helmet wasn’t just about aesthetics—it was a reflection of Jim’s passion for his business and his dedication to providing an unforgettable experience at Safe Shot Indoor Shooting Range. Whether riding his bike or showcasing the helmet at his range, Jim had a piece of custom art that truly represented his personality and brand.

Working on this firearms theme airbrushed helmet was cool since I have a handful of guns myself.  The combination of Harley Davidson-inspired graphics and custom firearm designs made this custom painted street helmet stand out as different.
