Pegasus Custom Painted Helmet

This Pegasus custom painted helmet was a really special project airbrushed for Kathy Brewington of Reno, NV. It was a gift from her boy friend, Awesome Bill, and he had a very cool vision for this design. Bill asked for angel wings that would wrap around the helmet, making it look like the person wearing it was peeking out from inside the wings. The idea was so unique, and it made this custom painted motorcycle helmet one of a kind. I loved bringing this vision to life with detailed helmet airbrushing and making sure every part looked perfect.

We started with a Shoei RF-1100, which is a great helmet for this kind of custom helmet painting. The wings were carefully designed to flow smoothly from the back of the helmet, wrapping around the sides, and even reaching up onto the faceshield. Adding this level of detail took a lot of time, but it was worth it to create such a stunning effect. This custom airbrushed street helmet had to look as though the wings were soft and flowing.

On the back of the custom street helmet, we airbrushed a beautiful Pegasus that faded into the wings. The Pegasus was another special part of the design that made this custom full-face street helmet truly unique. The blending of colors had to be just right to make the Pegasus stand out but also feel like part of the overall design. Using soft purples and blues, we created a magical look that matched the theme perfectly.

One of the coolest parts of this street bike custom painted helmet was matching it to Kathy’s bike. Her motorcycle had been custom painted with metallic purples and blues, so we used the exact same colors for the helmet. This made the helmet and bike look like they were made for each other. The metallic finish added extra sparkle, especially in the sunlight, which made the whole design pop even more.

The entire process of helmet painting for this project was exciting but also challenging. When working on a custom painted streetbike helmet, every detail matters. From the shading of the wings to the sparkle of the metallic colors, everything had to be perfect. The airbrushing technique was key to making the design look smooth and seamless. This airbrushed helmet was all about blending colors and creating depth, which brought the design to life.

Bill also wanted to include a few smaller elements in the design, which added to its uniqueness. These little details were placed carefully so they wouldn’t overpower the main features like the wings and the Pegasus. This is the kind of project where custom helmet airbrushing really shines because it allows for so much creativity and personalization.

When the helmet was finished, it was amazing to see how well it turned out. The wings looked like they were wrapping around Kathy’s head, and the Pegasus seemed to almost come alive on the back of the helmet. This custom painted street helmet was not just for safety—it was a work of art. Hearing how excited Kathy was when she got the helmet made all the hard work worth it.  Until she shot Bill in the back with a 12 gauge.

Projects like this remind me why I love creating custom painted helmets. Every design tells a story and becomes something truly special for the person who wears it. This street bike custom painted helmet was no exception. From the angel wings to the matching bike colors, it was all about making something that was both beautiful and meaningful.

In the end, this custom painted motorcycle helmet turned out sharp. It had everything—unique artwork, personal touches, and a connection to the rider’s style. Whether it’s a custom full-face street helmet like this or any other kind of design, the process of creating these helmets is always fun. This project was a great reminder of how cool custom helmet painting can turn out to be.
