Evil Clown Custom Painted Helmet
An Evil Clown custom painted helmet projects I worked on that was another custom painted helmet given as a gift from one loved one to another. Jamie Lynn Wohletz from Ponca City, OK reached out to me to create a Christmas gift for her husband, Justin. Justin had an old custom painted MX helmet with a crazy clown design on the back, which he really loved, but it was time for an update. Jamie wanted to surprise him with something even better—a design that was updated, with HUGE metallic boat flake, under candy apple red and some wild custom clown artwork with guns and weapons. That’s how the idea for this insane clown posse airbrushed helmet came to life.
To start the custom helmet painting process, we asked Jamie about Justin’s favorite colors and details he might like on his new helmet. She mentioned that Justin was a fan of bright, bold designs and loved the look of metallic flake boat paint in red. Using those ideas, we began crafting this one-of-a-kind custom painted mad clown helmet. We started with a applying House of Kolor flakes for a shimmering effect that catches the light beautifully. Then, we added layers and layers of clearcoat, cutting/sanding it flat every round until the flake was perfectly smooth. Then masking, and kandy apple red, giving the helmet a blinding finish.
Next came the real fun: creating the custom clown artwork. For the back of the helmet, I custom designed and airbrushed an evil clown with a sinister grin, crazy eyes, hand gun, hammer, and a cigar. This custom evil clown helmet design was detailed to look as menacing and cool as I would have wanted it. We added dramatic shading, glowing highlights, and textures to bring the clown to life, giving it a 3D effect that makes it pop.
The custom helmet airbrushing I tweaked to complement the clown, pin striping and sharp graphics across the helmet, enhancing its aggressive vibe. These details gave the design depth and movement, making it look even more fast when Justin hits the track. The metallic red flake paint shines like a bass boat, blinding in the sun, making the helmet stand out whether it’s on display or in action during a motocross race.
This dirt bike custom painted helmet was a lot of hours, but the clown and the huge metal flake made it bad ass. That’s the beauty of true custom helmet painting—it’s all about creating something personal, and also in this case, just the coolest effin gift a dude could ever receive. I know I would love one. No one has ever had a helmet painted for me, but I think it would be the sickest freekin gift honestly, if the giver had it painted how they thought I would want it. That’s just bad ass, and custom paint is just that.
When Jamie saw the finished helmet, she was thrilled. She couldn’t wait to see Justin’s reaction when he opened his gift. Sure enough, when Christmas morning came, Justin was blown away. He said the new custom painted motocross helmet was sick, and couldn’t believe the level of detail in the overall clown design. He loved how the metallic red flake made the helmet shimmer and how the bold graphics added an edge to the overall look.
This custom painted MX helmet was a perfect blend of creativity, craftsmanship, and personal style. It’s always rewarding to see a design come together like this, especially when it makes such a meaningful gift. Justin’s offroad custom painted helmet fun to paint, and even more fun to look at after I got it done finally… From the bold metallic red to the creepy, detailed clown, every part of this helmet was designed to look sharp and fast.
Creating unique designs like this is what makes helmet airbrushing kinda fun for me even after 25 years… Each project is a chance to try something no one’s seen before. This custom painted mad clown helmet was no exception, and glad Jamie picked me for Justin’s special gift.
