We laid out this Las Vegas custom painted helmet for racecar driver Santino Ferrucci. This was one of the first custom painted helmets we ever got to do for him, and he had a big idea—he wanted a custom painted Las Vegas helmet. He told us, “Don’t show me anything until it’s all done and shipped.” So we got to work on a surprise custom helmet painting that he would never forget.
Santino wanted everything Vegas on his custom painted Santino Ferrucci helmet. So, we added all the bright and bold things you see in Las Vegas. The design shows the Las Vegas Strip at night with all the lights shining. We used helmet airbrushing to create the city with glowing buildings and stars above. The artwork really makes you feel like you’re driving through Vegas at night.
On the very top of the helmet, a roulette table. The green and red colors pop out and make it super fun to look at. We also painted poker chips and playing cards all over the helmet. It’s a total Las Vegas themed custom helmet, filled with fun details that make it one of a kind.
This custom helmet airbrushing took a lot of time because we wanted to get every little piece just right. We wanted the poker chips to look real. We wanted the cards to look like they were flying in the air. And we wanted the lights of the Vegas Strip to shine, even though it’s just paint!
We used an Arai helmet as the base, so this is also an Arai custom painted helmet. Arai helmets are built superbly, and they work great for helmet painting. They also have a nice smooth shape that’s perfect for designs like this one. When we do a custom airbrushed helmet, it’s important that it’s not only cool-looking, but also safe to wear while racing.
