Custom Motorcycle Painting

More custom motorcycle paining for Tony Carbajal, a super freak of a talent stunt rider who wanted something special. I met Tony during a video shoot where I had painted a helmet for Jason Britton. After seeing that helmet, Tony asked if we did custom motorcycle painting too. Absolutely. I told him to take apart his bike and send us the parts. When the bodywork and custom tank showed up, we got to work on a wild and exciting design.

Tony wanted a custom painted sport bike with lots of skulls. Not just any skulls—he wanted one that looked just like his arm tattoo. So, I designed the big skull on the sides of the bike to match his tattoo legitimately with paint. We added more skulls, too. Some looked like Grim Reapers, and others graveyard scenes. We made them all look dark, hard, and cool, just like Tony wanted.

The overall custom paint job’s base started with a shiny metallic silver flake, which gave the bike a bright sparkle. Then we sprayed a layer of candy brandywine red over the top. This made the bike glow in the sunlight and look deep and rich in color. After all the motorcycle airbrushing was finished, I laid out several layers of clear coat, color sanded in between lays,  and buffed it out smooth. The result was a custom painted street bike that looked like it should be in a bike show rather than a stunt field.

One of the coolest parts was the skull airbrushing art on the tank. Tony had a stunt tank, which was shaped different to help him do his thing…  We used fiberglass to fix it up and make it strong enough to take a beating. On the top of the tank, we airbrushed a Grim Reaper right where Tony sits when he’s got all eyes on him.  That gave the bike even more attitude.  Hardcore.

This custom painted ZX6 wasn’t just for show, but it looked so good it could be in a museum. It had the perfect mix of wild and classy.  The finish, PERFECT.   It was a skull custom painted motorcycle with a lot of heart and personality. It was dark, hard, offending, (ask the SoCal Hells Angels) and full of amazing details that only a pro rider like Tony could rock on the street or on TV…

Tony’s bike was a custom airbrushed motorcycle that stood out anywhere he rode it. From the bones and skulls to the smooth color fades and shadows, everything was done by hand using top-level custom helmet airbrushing techniques—just like the helmets we painted for him, too. Over the years, we also painted a handful of custom painted helmets to match the bike, so he could ride with style.

This street bike custom painted ZX6 wasn’t just another paint job. It was a full-on art project. Call it custom sport bike airbrushing, or whatever ya want, but really, it’s storytelling with paint. Every skull, every shadow, every shine had a reason to be there. It showed off Tony’s style, his talent, and his love for the sport.  Tony’s a  F*ckIng  NINJA.   Hands down

In the end, this custom street bike turned out better than I could have imagined after uncountable hours. It was wild, deep, shiny, and full of energy. Tony loved it, and so did we. When he rode it and stunted at shows, people turned their heads. They had never seen a custom painted sport bike like this before. It was more than just a motorcycle—it was a rolling piece of art, and we were proud to be part of the ride.
