Wolf Custom Painted Helmet

This custom painted helmet was one of family meaning. A wolf custom painted helmet theme. It was painted for Craig Beeson, who lives in Redmond, Washington. He needed a special karting custom painted helmet for his races overseas. He wanted the design to tell a story about his family, his background, and what matters most to him. That’s the best kind of job to get in custom helmet painting. A design that has deep meaning and cool art, all in one custom painted full-face helmet.

He asked for a big, bold wolf on the back, to represent strength and bravery. On one side, he wanted a bee. That was a fun idea because his last name is Beeson. The bee stood for his name and his family line. On the other side, he asked for a painting of Saint George, the brave knight from England, because he’s proud of his English roots. These ideas made for an awesome mix on the helmet. It made me excited to get started with the airbrushing and helmet painting process.

I started with a strong green candy base coat, using green House of Kolor Kandy paint. The color really popped and looked great under sunlight. Then I used helmet airbrushing to carefully add the wolf, the bee, and Saint George. Each part needed soft fades and clean lines, so I took my time with the custom helmet airbrushing part of it. That’s the part I enjoy the most. The airbrush lets me blend colors and add tiny details that make each custom painted helmet look amazing, along with the hand pinstriping to finish the images off.

On the top of the custom airbrushed full-face helmet, Craig asked for three flags: the English flag, the French flag, and the Ethiopian flag. These flags represent his family’s roots and where they come from. I also  added the names of his three kids written in Amharic, the Ethiopian language. This part made the custom painted karting helmet very special. It turned into a helmet full of love and pride for his family and culture.

The cool part about custom painted helmets like this one is how every piece tells a story. It’s not just art—it’s history, memories, and family all in one design. Every time Craig puts on his custom painted street helmet or races in it, he will feel connected to his roots. That’s what makes airbrushed helmets more than just safety gear.

Since this was also going to be used for karting, I made sure it was prepped correctly for the best possible durability for a custom full face street helmet. These helmets need to handle wind, rain, dirt, roost, and sun, so I always finish them with high-quality PPG clear coat. That way, the colors stay bright, and the helmet stays strong. Whether it’s for the track or the street, a custom painted full-face helmet like this one is made to last when done correctly.

Designing this karting custom helmet was one of the highlights of my year. I really enjoyed how Craig gave me so many great ideas, and how we worked together to make them all fit into one design. It’s helmets like this that remind me why I love custom helmet painting. No two are ever the same. Every racer has a different story, and I get to help show that through paint and art on their custom painted helmets.

So, if you ever see a green custom painted karting helmet with a wolf, a bee, Saint George, flags, and family names, that’s Craig.  And he’s probably in front of you, as it’s more than just a custom painted helmet—it’s a part of his life, turned into something fast, bold, and beautiful. That’s the magic of custom helmet painting and why I’ll never stop loving what I do.
