Working with Jimmie Johnson and Troy Lee for the last few years, I have gotten to paint dozens of Indy race custom helmets for Jimmie. This one was a special project involving American Legion, and partnering with Blake Shelton - creating Jimmie Johnson's Helmet of Heros that he will be wearing this weekend for the Indianapois 500. May 25th, Jimmie Johnson will be presenting the custom helmet on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon as he is one of the evening's guests. This American Legion, Blake Shelton collaboration included Jimmie Johnson's Grandfather, his wife's Grandfather, Blake Shelton's Grandfather and brother. The images of all of these Heros who died serving our country are incorporated into the design. Also for Indy 500 weekend, the helmet will be featured during TV coverage, through a five part episode of the American Legion, Blake, and Jimmie contribution. One of the episodes will focus on the process of what it took to paint this special helmet. Very thankful to have gotten this opportunity to work with talented people.
